Instead of just concentrating on promoting inclusion through technology for those with a vision, hearing, cognitive or mobility disability, the charity is now going to focus on inclusion through participation, for people of all abilities, backgrounds and social circumstances.
This big new development came from you. We’d like to thank the 100+ participants who took the time to share with us the challenges that they continue to experience when trying to navigate through today's digitally-driven world.
We listened. We stopped. We reflected. And now we’re ready to take action. From 20 September 2017, the Board has made the unanimous decision to relaunch as the Centre for Inclusive Design.
Why? Because inclusive design advances accessibility and removes disability. It recognises that we aren’t all the same, but those differences are our strength. From policies, customer service, infrastructure, technology, buildings, to everyday products – we can design so that everyone can be accommodated and included.
It's an exciting time for the charity and we'd love you to continue with us on a journey of positive change. We'll keep you updated with more information on developments.
All the best,
The Media Access Australia / Centre for Inclusive Design team
