Audio Describers Lara and Jo from Access2Arts will be describing the pageant from the Library Institute Building on the corner of North Terrace and Kintore Avenue in Adelaide.
A radio booth at bus stop T2 on North Terrace will be providing FM radios to borrow and listen to the broadcast, allowing people to hear live descriptions of floats, bands and performers during the event.
Listeners can tune in from home, or anywhere in the world, through radio and live streaming from the Radio Adelaide website. You can also visit via the Access2Arts website for more details on how to connect.
The broadcast begins at 10:00am starting with interviews, followed by audio description from 10.15am as the pageant travels along North Terrace. The event will finish close to 11.30am when Santa arrives at the Magic Cave, providing a great opportunity for the kids to visit.
Jody Holdback, Audio Description Audience Development Project Officer from Access2Arts has discussed pageant details and more upcoming events on Vision Australia's Focal Point 5RPH Radio program. You can listen to the full interview below via the RPH Adelaide website:
