Mainstream or low cost access technology will feature at this year’s Texpo, an event hosted by Vision Australia that showcases the latest technology and services for people who are blind or vision impaired.

This annual event features select international technology suppliers as well as Australian technology suppliers and service providers.

Inbuilt accessibility features of Apple products will be highlighted this year, with regular presentations that talk about accessibility and the Apple iPad, iPhone 4, iPods Touch and Nano and the Mac operating system (Snow Leopard). Texpo 2010 will also showcase NV Access, creators of the free, open source screen reader NVDA that works with Microsoft Windows.

Texpo 2010 will visit three of Australia’s major cities:

  • Melbourne (Kooyong): Friday 27 August and Saturday 28 August 2010
  • Brisbane (Coorparoo): Tuesday 31 August and Wednesday 1 September 2010
  • Sydney (Enfield): Friday 3 September and Saturday 4 September 2010
