The Mouse Keys function enables the keyboard to be used to move the mouse pointer around instead of a mouse.
Windows 7 and Vista
- Select the Windows logo ‘Start’ button.
- Select ‘Control Panel’.
- In the Control Panel, select ‘Ease of Access’.
- Select ‘Ease of Access Center’.
- Select ‘Make the keyboard easier to use’.
- Select the ‘Turn on Mouse Keys’ checkbox.
- Select the ‘Save’ button.
Windows XP
- Select the ‘Start’ button.
- Select ‘Control Panel’.
- In the Control Panel, select ‘Accessibility Options’. If there is no ‘Accessibility Options’ icon, you may need to switch Control Panel into Classic View. This can be done by selecting the words ‘Switch to Classic View’ located on the left-hand side.
- The ‘Accessibility Options’ window should appear. Select the ‘Mouse’ tab, located in the top-middle of the window.
- Select the ‘Use MouseKeys’ checkbox.
- Select the ‘OK’ button. The keys on the numeric keypad can now be used to move the mouse pointer.
