The new iPhone 4S is essentially a hardware upgrade. It is more powerful and includes a better camera for increased image and video quality. Most of the accessibility features for iPhone come from the mobile operating system iOS rather than the device itself. However, there were a number of announcements today that impact on the accessibility world.

Phone carrier gives away accessibility apps to blind and vision impaired users
Mobile Accessibility Lite, developed by Code Factory, is a suite of 11 accessible applications for everyday online activities such as email, phone calls and contact lists, SMS, calendar and web. It also has a screen reader that replaces the standard Android text-to-speech software as well as speech recognition for easier text input, such as writing an SMS or email.

Voice-to-text feature very likely in iOS 5
Apple user blog 9to5mac received screenshots of IOS 5 beta from a reliable source that show a microphone icon situated to the right of the space key on the onscreen keyboard. Once the microphone key is pressed, the onscreen keyboard will be replaced with a large microphone icon. When you finish talking, the text will appear in the text field.
