This year’s festival is set to launch on 3 December, International Day of People With Disability, and run until Sunday, 7 December. Within those five days a wide range of short and feature films will show from around the world. The OFF schedules films by, with and about people with disabilities and presents them with open captions and audio description.
An addition to this year’s program is the world-first live audio description competition. 30 sighted people will be given the chance to audio describe two minutes of the 1922 silent horror movie Nosferatu. Judges will be on hand to determine the winners!
The festival is presented by arts and disability organisation Arts Access Victoria and both celebrate milestones in 2014; this is the festival’s tenth anniversary while Arts Access Victoria celebrates 40 years in operation.
