Vision Australia’s Texpo 14, which starts in Melbourne on Friday, will showcase the latest assistive technology which has been developed to improve the lives of blind and vision impaired people.

Texpo 2014: Experience the latest technology and services for people who are blind or have low vision.

A range of exhibitors, including Glassbrick, Optek Systems, Visitech Magnifiers, Pacific Vision International and Bionic Vision Australia, will be showing the latest magnifiers, canes, phones and other devices. Visitors will be able to observe how these can be used in “real-life scenarios”, and Vision Australia experts will be on hand to offer further advice. The event, which is free, includes a program of seminars, and audio described movies will be screened in a cinema lounge. Vision Australia services such as Seeing Eye Dogs will also be showcased.

Texpo 14 will be held at Vision Australia’s Melbourne offices at 454 Glenferrie Road, Kooyong from on 10-11 October, then move to its Sydney offices at 4 Mitchell Street, Enfield on 17-18 October.
