Closed captioned cinema on Broadway

Wednesday, 22 December 2010 13:14pm

Captioned cinema hits the big time on Broadway. Broadway in Sydney, that is. From 30 December 2010 Hoyts Cinemas Broadway will begin closed captioned sessions using the CaptiView system.

As part of the Cinema Access Implementation Plan, Hoyts Broadway will be one of the first three locations in Australia to begin closed caption screenings, with 10 CaptiView units on site to be used by movie patrons.

Be sure to book ahead to ensure a CaptiView unit is reserved for you. Book online via the cinema’s website, or contact the cinema directly on ph: 02 9211 1911.

Information on the sessions will also be available on the Your Local Cinema website. If you would like to provide feedback on your experience of closed captioned movies at Broadway, please send your comments through to accessible.cinema@fahcsia.gov.auThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Hoyts Cinemas Broadway is located in the Broadway Shopping Centre in the Sydney city fringe suburb of Ultimo. Free four-hour parking is available to all Hoyts patrons, there are frequent buses along Parramatta Road, and Central Station is just a 10 minute walk away.

Audio description will be available at this cinema some time in 2011.
