Village Cinemas Bendigo will this week commence audio described and closed captioned movies at its 7-screen complex. This will see access to movies greatly enhanced for people with a hearing or vision impairment in regional Victoria.

Using the Doremi CaptiView and Fidelio systems, for captioning and audio description respectively, the new program will allow all Deaf, hearing impaired, blind and vision impaired local residents to enjoy the latest movies on the big screen with their family and friends.

Bendigo Cinema advertises audio described and captioned sessions on their website and in local newspapers. Tickets may be purchased online or at the box office, but you must visit the box office on arrival at the cinema to collect captioning or audio description units.

To find out what it’s like to watch a movie with closed captions or audio description see our At the Cinema page.
