Information access for people with print disabilities is an expanding and evolving area for development of services, advocacy and promotion. This includes different formats (such as large print, braille, e-text), services (through education, government, libraries and websites) and types of access (such as tablets, mobile phones, laptops, televisions and specialist devices).

The annual Round Table on Information Access for People with Print Disabilities conference will be held 14-17 May 2016 at Bayview on the Park in Melbourne. This event will explore these issues, sharing information about the latest developments in information access, showcasing new technology and best practices, and exploring changes to policies and regulations in this area.

A call for papers has just been released to present at the conference based around the theme of “Access and engagement with the marketplace of information, technologies and learning.” As well as the expected presentations on technology, regulation, approaches, development of standards and promotion of print disability, a major new topic is the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and how that impacts on print disability services.

The closing date for abstract submissions is 4 December 2015 and the submissions should on the Abstract Form.
