The featured keynote address at the end of the first day of the conference will be from Alastair McEwin, the Australian Disability Discrimination Commissioner, who is deaf, on the topic of overcoming adversity in the workplace. After dinner, renowned author, researcher and MAA’s Specialist Adviser–Digital Accessibility, Dr Scott Hollier, who is legally blind, will talk on ‘Technology, Education and Access: A Fair Go for People with Disabilities’.
Monday morning’s keynote will be from David Masters, the Corporate Affairs Manager at Microsoft Australia. This will be followed by an Accessibility Hack event, sponsored by Bankwest and held at their premises which is a 5 minute walk from the conference venue.
Tuesday’s highlight will be a poster competition held throughout the day, along with a keynote address from the Chair of the Royal National Institute of Blind people, Kevin Carey, who will be speaking on 'Employment in the digital age for people with Impairment'.
