Our weekly Vision Australia Radio segment is now available as a podcast which can be downloaded and subscribed to through iTunes.

Media Access News provides the latest on how media and technology are affecting the lives of people who are blind or vision impaired. The segment lets listeners know where they can find audio described TV and movies, follows developments in web accessibility and profiles new technologies making the world a more inclusive and accessible place.

Broadcast on Vision Australia Radio and presented by veteran broadcaster Roberta Ashby, the segment features interviews with our experts on the intersection of media, technology and access. Recent highlights include Clarizza Fernandez on Facebook app accessibility, Ally Woodford on the latest audio described DVDs and special guest Karina Libbey on the Access All Areas Film Festival.

For iPhone, iPad or iPhone Touch users the easiest way to listen is to install the Podcast app which is his is compatible with VoiceOver and Zoom. This allows you to subscribe to the podcast so that it downloads automatically whenever a new episode is added. Alternatively, you can subscribe via iTunes or listen in your web browser.

The Media Access Australia radio segment is aired on Vision Australia Radio at 1:50pm every Sunday, at the end of the program ‘A way of life’.  Transcripts are available on the Media Access Australia website.
