Languages and the Media 2016 has issued a call for proposals and papers around the theme of ‘Agile Mediascapes – Personalising the Future’. According to the conference website the theme is focusing on the growing range of on-demand services and other distribution channels. This is coupled with a push for personalised user experiences, which includes needs for accessibility (through captions and audio description) and different languages (through dubbing, subtitling and translation).

Media Access Australia has been involved in this bi-annual conference over the last 10 years, with CEO Alex Varley a regular presenter and supporter. Some of the coverage from the 2014 conference includes:

The submission deadline for proposals is 30 April 2016.”
