Languages and the Media 2016 has issued a call for proposals and papers around the theme of ‘Agile Mediascapes – Personalising the Future’. According to the conference website the theme is focusing on the growing range of on-demand services and other distribution channels. This is coupled with a push for personalised user experiences, which includes needs for accessibility (through captions and audio description) and different languages (through dubbing, subtitling and translation).
Media Access Australia has been involved in this bi-annual conference over the last 10 years, with CEO Alex Varley a regular presenter and supporter. Some of the coverage from the 2014 conference includes:
“This conference is the first-choice event in the world for anyone who is working at the practical end of media access as it attracts best practitioner and experts with decades of experience,” said Varley. “In recent years it has extended its reach to include presenters and delegates from all parts of the globe. The submission deadline for proposals is 30 April 2016.”
