Employers, job seekers and various government agencies were all invited to the ‘sundowner’, and there were presentations by Janine Varley, CEO of Career Contact, a group that supports people who are blind or vision impaired, and Media Access Australia’s Dr Scott Hollier, who is now based in WA.
The event was run in partnership with the Kalgoorlie Transition Pathway Group and the Goldfields Inclusion Group and welcomed high profile employers including the Attorney General's Department and the Kalgoorlie City Authority.
Dr Hollier said of the event, “It was a privilege to attend the Goldfields event and provide support to the great work being done in providing employment to people with disabilities.”
