The app is designed to work in conjunction with the microphone on a user’s Android smartphone. When someone speaks into this, captions created using text-to-speech software will appear on the user’s Glass display. As this set-up requires the user to hand the person they are speaking to their smartphone, it won’t be ideal for impromptu conversations, but the designers envisage it being used among friends and for making purchases.
There is no release date for the app yet, but for more information – and a video demonstrating it – see this article on the Techspot website.
