Arts Access Australia
Arts Access Australia is dedicated to broadening understanding and improving skills and access in the field of disability and the arts. The annual Meeting Place gathering supports cultural exchange between outstanding national and international artists with disability, along with the WA arts and disability community.
Meeting Place is structured to provide a platform for learning, discussion and debate on important issues that impact upon artists, arts workers and leaders with disability, as well as those with an interest in the sector.
The all-day event is being staged on Thursday 2 March 2017 at the University Club of Western Australia. A highlight will be the keynote address from Jenny Sealey OBE, Director of the UK-based Graeae Theatre Company, a real force for change in world-class theatre.
There will also be a series of presentations and panel discussions on topics such as the arts and mental health, formal training pathways for people with disability in the arts, and the impact of the NDIS on arts participation by people with disability.
You must register online beforehand to be able to attend Meeting Place 2017 and all the key details regarding the event and venue information are listed on that webpage. Registration is free for people with disability or just $50 for individuals and $100 for up to four attendees from an organisation.
