This partnership event aims to promote the availability of audio description at Village Cinema’s unique cinema complex in South Yarra, as well as the wider availability of accessible sessions across a growing number of Village Cinema locations in Victoria and Tasmania.
The PG rated animated feature Ice Age 4: Continental Drift will appeal to children and adults as the characters encounter sea creatures and battle pirates on their makeshift ship, made from an iceberg. The open audio description – no earphones are used – will mean that all patrons experience the audio description.
The event will take place on Thursday, 26 July from 4pm to 7pm at Village Cinema Jam Factory, 500 Chapel Street, South Yarra. Tickets cost $12 each or $8 concession and can be booked through Blind Citizens Australia on 03 9654 1400. Canapés and refreshments will be served before and after the screening and RSVPs are required by Friday, 13 July.
