Apple has released the new Safari 5 web browser which supports HTML 5 closed caption video, a full-screen video playback mode and a 130% speed increase.

The new version of the browser, released at its annual World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco, has focused on the delivery of many of the new features found  in the new W3C HTML 5 standard, and its support of improved multimedia content. This means that new and emerging web technologies will be able to feature closed captions in the Safari web browser and playback in a TV-style full screen mode.  The new version of Safari is available for both Mac OS and Windows from the Apple Download website
