Hoyts Cinemas has begun closed captioned sessions at an extra two cinemas, adding to the five cinemas previously announced as commencing today.

As previously reported, Hoyts locations in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide have upgraded to enable closed captioned sessions through CaptiView technology. The chain has added Mt Druitt in Western Sydney and Warringah on the North Shore to its list of locations which cater to Deaf and hearing impaired patrons.

Warringah Hoyts has closed captions available on two screens and Mt Druitt has closed captions on one screen. Audio description for blind and vision impaired patrons will be added in the near future. Please check directly with the cinema for session times.

The rollout of accessible cinema is part of the Federal Government’s Cinema Access Implementation Plan which will see all Hoyts, Village, Event/Greater Union/Birch Carroll & Coyle and Reading cinemas show accessible movies by the end of 2014.
