Event Cinemas Robina will begin closed captioned movie sessions from 30 December 2010.

As part of the Cinema Access Implementation Plan, Event Cinemas Robina will be one of the first three locations in Australia to begin closed captioned screenings using the CaptiView system. The cinema will have 10 CaptiView units on site to be used by movie patrons requiring captions.

Be sure to book ahead to ensure a CaptiView unit is reserved for you. Book online via the cinema’s website, or contact the cinema directly on ph: 07 5592 7000.

Information on the sessions will also be available on the Your Local Cinema website. Event Cinemas Robina is located in the entertainment precinct of Robina Town Centre, known as The Promenade. Parking is free at Robina Town Centre or there are public transport options of bus or train. The cinema complex features a new candy bar called Scoop Alley and a licensed cafe and bar.

Home to Bond University and Skilled Park (the home ground of NRL team Gold Coast Titans), and considered one of Australia’s most successful planned communities, Robina attracts a diverse population of students, visitors and residents. More than a quarter of Robina’s residents are aged over 55.

Audio description will be available at this cinema some time in 2011.
