CaptiView is an individual closed captioning device which has received mixed reviews from Deaf and hearing impaired users. Melbourne community group, Action on Cinema Access (AOCA), is hosting a forum on the use of CaptiView units that are being adopted by accessible cinemas.

The invitation to the forum states that there has been little consultation between the cinemas, the Accessible Cinema Advisory Group and the community over CaptiView, and this provides an opportunity for people to have their say and learn of what AOCA can do for you.

The forum will be held on Wednesday, 28 September from 6pm to 8pm in the John Lovett Room of VicDeaf. VicDeaf is located at 340 Albert Street, East Melbourne. The forum will be captioned and Auslan interpreted.
