Filter keys can help prevent mistyping through a tremor or sudden movement on the keyboard.
Windows 7 and Vista
- Select the Windows logo ‘Start’ button.
- Select ‘Control Panel’.
- In the Control Panel, select ‘Ease of Access’.
- Select ‘Ease of Access Center’.
- Select ‘Make the keyboard easier to use’.
- Select the ‘Turn on Filter Keys’ checkbox.
- Select the ‘Save’ button.
Windows XP
- Select the ‘Start’ button.
- Select ‘Control Panel’.
- In the Control Panel, select ‘Accessibility Options’. If there is no ‘Accessibility Options’ icon, you may need to switch Control Panel into Classic View. This can be done by selecting the words ‘Switch to Classic View’ located on the left-hand side.
- The ‘Accessibility Options’ window should appear. Select the ‘Keyboard’ tab, located in the top-left of the window.
- Select the ‘Use FilterKeys’ checkbox.
- Select the ‘OK’ button.
