Belinda has spent close to two years working at Media Access Australia, joining the team in 2009 as Marketing Communication Manager.

Education ministers endorse Australian Curriculum

In a historic decision, federal, state and territory ministers endorsed the first ever Australian Curriculum at the Ministerial Council meeting in Canberra on Wednesday.

“The Australian Curriculum will be among the world’s first curriculum delivered online. …. importantly it will also provide the personal and life skills kids need to be active citizens and positive contributors to our community,” Mr Garrett said.

The next and final stage will involve the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) coordinating the national process where any adjustments, refinements or standards will be addressed by October 2011.

Classroom Access Project completes successful second pilot

The Media Access Australia Classroom Access Project (CAP) will finish at the end of the 2010 school year. Cerdon College, Merrylands, NSW, the host of this pilot, will continue its focus on captioned access to curriculum support materials for students with hearing impairment well into the future.

The project has been a huge success with high levels of teacher and student engagement and commitment to the concept and use of the model classroom. The key components of the project are the use of an interactive whiteboard linked to a laptop, and a Soundfield amplification system to deliver captioned audiovisual material with improved sound and picture quality.
