In an article in the Sydney Morning Herald Film Victoria CEO, Jenni Tosi, said the investment fund will contribute to “any costs the developer incurs as part of their accessibility efforts, which may include technology, testing or accessibility consultants.” Film Victoria provides up to $100,000 or 50 per cent of the project budget for games developed in the state.
The conference brings together a range of professionals across information technology, with the increased numbers showing the shift, particularly in government and finance, towards considering the needs of people with a disability in web design and development.
The three plaintiffs from California and Kansas filed the lawsuit against Disney in September 2010. The suit argued that Disney was in violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act (2008) by failing to cater to people with disabilities across its parks and websites.
A mobile site has also been made available, increasing access to ABC news for Deaf and hearing impaired users on the move, who might use devices and applications that do not support captions.
The captions are displayed in a block format and currently do not distinguish between speakers, normally conveyed through the placement of captions or the use of colour.
