Education is a rapidly growing area of Media Access Australia’s (MAA) work in promoting access to audiovisual media used in the classroom for students with sensory impairment.
The Classroom Access Project (CAP) and the Accessible Education Database (AED) are at present two key projects that are propelling advocacy for Deaf and hearing impaired students. However, MAA’s work also extends to providing information and advocacy for students who are blind or have low vision.
Primary access solutions include:
- Captioning: for students who are Deaf or hearing impaired.
- Audio Description: for those that are blind or vision impaired.
